  1. NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH MANGANESE
    2022
    Performance

‘Not to be confused with manganese’ talks about a chemical element, a symbol and an atomic number. It belongs to the second group of the periodic table and shares physical properties with the other five alkaline earth metals. Since they have high levels of reactivity, they never appear in their elemental state. Appearance is shiny grey solid. It’s named after a department in Greece, where the main agricultural products are wheat, cotton, tomatoes, grapes, olives, apples and honey.

For the performance five junior gymnasts of various skill levels practiced the uneven bars for 40 minutes in a black box. Joachim Badenhorst accompanied the performance with saxophine and field recordings.
