    ‘Not to be confused with magnesium’ talks about a chemical element, a symbol and an atomic number. It belongs to the seventh group of the periodic table and is part of the iron group of elements. Appearance is silvery metallic. Because it was used in glassmaking, it was available for experiments by alchemists, the first chemists. The origin of the name comes from ancient times in glassmaking for removing coloring matter, but is also indirectly named after a Greek region.
